Day 1: Nairobi / Lake Naivasha

You will be picked up at 8 am directly from your hotel as you embark for your adventure towards Hell’s Gate National Park in Naivasha. Upon arrival, mountain bikes will be readily available for your bicycle safari. Be prepared for an enticing experience as you cycle through herds of zebras, giraffes, antelopes, hyenas and African buffalos.

While in the park, an adventurous hike through the Njorowa Gorge awaits you in the middle of two extinct volcanoes. Later you will enjoy lunch on a breath taking view of the beautiful African landscape. After a spectacular bicycle safari, a boat trip at Lake Naivasha will be a waiting for you, here you will get the opportunity to watch, stare and wonder about the incredible bird’s diversity and overwhelming hippos. After enjoying a delicious dinner you will equally spend a warm night at the same lodge, LAKE NAIVASHA SOPA LODGE.

 

Day 2: Lake Naivasha / Mount Kenya

Your adventure will start at 7 am from LAKE NAIVASHA SOPA LODGE. Accompanied by your guide, you will be heading to Nanyuki. After around a 4 hours drive, you will arrive in Nanyuki town. Your long awaited first hike will start from Sirimon gate. Be ready for a 3 – 4 hours hike (9kms) to Old Moses camp, where you will acclimatize in 3300m and spend your first night. On the way to your camp you will discover the first changes of vegetation.

 

Day 3: Mount Kenya

Today you need your full power and agility to counter a 6 – 8 hours hike to Shipton’s camp (4200 m) through the adventurers and beautiful Likii North Valley (3900 m). Climb out the North Valley into the Mackinders Valley with a great view of the main peaks and stopover for picnic lunch. Afterwards you need to focus for another 3 hours hike to Shipton`s camp. On arrival, you will take a cup of tea before you get served with dinner.

 

Day 4: Mount Kenya

Very early in the morning at 3 am you will kick off to the highest peak Point Lenana (4985 m) and hike through a cliff clearing visible part towards lower Hall Tarns. This is the most challenging bit of trekking Mount Kenya. You need a strong mind to reach to the summit. You will arrive summit Point Lenana at 6:30 am, which is the perfect time to watch the sunrise and to take pictures to capture the fascinating moment. Prepare yourself to descend down back to Shipton Camp for another 2 hours hike, where you will get your breakfast served. Refreshed you will trek down to Judmaier Camp for dinner and overnight. In total, today you will have managed to hike 21 km.

 

Day 5: Mount Kenya / Ol Pejeta

After your breakfast, you will walk down through the rainforest for a 2 – 3 hours hike (9km) to Sirimon gate. From here your next destination will be the SWEETWATERS SERENA CAMP, where you can relax and enjoy the swimming pool facilities at your disposal.

 

Day 6: Ol Pejeta

Today you will have a unique lifetime chance and opportunity to watch and engage the famous Big Five at their natural habitat (lion, leopard, African elephant, Cape buffalo and black rhinoceros). The uniqueness of Ol Pejeta is the fact that it’s the only National Park where chimpanzees and the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa can be found. After such a breath-taking day safari through the park you will enjoy your evening at the SWEETWATERS SERENA CAMP.

 

Day 7: Ol Pejeta / Samburu

After your breakfast in the hotel, you will kick off to a Samburu women’s village. Take the chance to experience and experiment their culture,origin, heritage and traditions of the Samburu in their natural habitat. Support their community by buying some handmade jewelers. Around lunchtime you will be heading back to Nairobi, where your tour will end with the transfer to your hotel or with the continuation your individually booked programs at around 5 pm.

  • All game drives and park fees to include government taxes.

  • Full board accommodation whilst on safari.

  • 3 meals per day, which include meals for vegetarians.

Not included:

  • Masai village: additional expense of around 10$ p.p.
  • Balloon safari: you can book it in advance for 400$ p.p. or in Masai Mara for 420$ p.p.

    I never thought I could be that close to the animals! Bicycling next to a herd of buffaloes or zebras is an unbelievable feeling.
    But the trip was also a bit of a challenge to me to hike Mount Kenya. But I conquered the challenge!
